Dental Assistant - Endo
Job Description
This role is primarily responsible for supporting dentists during patient examinations and treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review the patient schedule and corresponding charts a day in advance to ensure readiness for treatments.
- Open the office and operatories by powering up computers, setting up sterilization, and preparing treatment rooms for the day.
- Obtain and document patient medical and dental histories, including vital signs, and communicate this information to the dentist.
- Perform dental radiographs and cone beam scans, reporting findings to the doctor.
- Deliver an exceptional patient experience by discussing comfort options, providing education, and setting treatment expectations.
- Assist dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies.
- Provide post-operative instructions as directed by the dentist.
- Maintain accurate clinical notes in patient charts.
- Generate consult and post-operative reports for referring dentists.
- Collaborate with front and back office staff to ensure smooth scheduling and communicate treatment plans with the Front Desk team.
- Adhere to infection control policies to protect patients and staff.
- Close out operatories at the end of the shift, ensuring they are clean, restocked, and ready for patients.
- Manage dental supplies inventory by monitoring stock levels, anticipating needs, and communicating with the Manager.
- Uphold patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with daily office cleaning tasks.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
To perform this role effectively, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Familiarity with dental practices and procedures is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental radiographs and dental software programs.
