Dental Assistant - Assisted Hygiene

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, patient-focused Assisted Hygiene Dental Assistant to support our hygiene department in a fast-paced, high-end clinical setting. This role is ideal for someone who is clinically skilled, personable, and passionate about creating an exceptional patient experience.

You will work closely with hygienists to maintain efficient appointment flow while ensuring each patient feels relaxed, informed, and well cared for. Illinois Coronal Polishing certification is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Assist hygienists during hygiene and periodontal procedures
Welcome patients warmly and build strong rapport
Seat patients, review medical histories, and prepare treatment rooms
Perform coronal polishing in accordance with Illinois regulations
Take digital X-rays, intraoral photos, and iTero scans as needed
Support clinical charting and documentation
Turn over rooms efficiently while maintaining a clean, luxury-standard environment
Follow sterilization, infection control, and safety protocols
Reinforce oral hygiene education and post-treatment instructions
Collaborate with hygiene, doctor, and front desk teams to ensure smooth daily operations

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of dental assisting experience (required)
Active Illinois Coronal Polishing Certificate (required)
Experience assisting with hygiene or periodontal appointments preferred
Warm, professional, and friendly demeanor
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
Proficiency with digital X-rays, intraoral cameras, and dental software
Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
Professional appearance aligned with a luxury practice environment

Compensation & Benefits

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour
