The Dental Assistant plays a crucial role in the coordination and operation of dental clinic sessions under the direct supervision of the Dental Director and Dental Supervisor, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to patients.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the Dental Supervisor and Dental Director to provide quality patient care.

- Schedule patients for dental clinic appointments.

- Assist in coordinating patient flow during dental sessions.

- Answer phone calls, provide information, and schedule appointments for patients.

- Ensure the dental department is stocked and cleaned as required.

- Maintain sterilization logs, including suction lines, water lines, and chairside traps; report any issues with the autoclave or positive spore tests to the Dental Manager.

- Clean, sterilize, and assemble dental instruments, supplies, and equipment needed for procedures.

- Prepare patients for oral surgery and other treatments; assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and equipment.

- Take patient vital signs when necessary.

- Capture and process digital oral X-rays for diagnosis and treatment.

- Record treatment details in patient records and provide post-care instructions and educational materials as needed.

- Learn and efficiently use the clinic’s MIS system.

- Perform clerical duties, including front office coverage as assigned.

- Verify patient insurance coverage through web portals to confirm eligibility before scheduling new or established patients.

- Utilize text messaging platforms, such as WELL Health, to monitor and respond to incoming messages, handle appointment requests, and coordinate with other departments as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Dental Assistant Diploma and X-Ray certification required.

- CPR certification.

- Proficient in computer skills.

- Bilingual in English and Spanish.

- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong customer service skills, including communication, empathy, patience, and technical knowledge.

- Effective verbal and written communication skills; self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well-organized.

Compensation:  

$22.93 per hour
