
Dental Assistant in Los Angeles
Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Dental Assistant to help create an efficient, welcoming, and positive experience for our patients. In this role, you will support the dentist by handling clinical, administrative, and patient-care tasks to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent customer service.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to follow instructions while maintaining compliance with all dental office regulations. You should be comfortable providing both direct and indirect patient care and committed to keeping procedures running seamlessly.
Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome patients to the office
Prepare patients for treatments and checkups, ensuring their comfort
Set up instruments, equipment, and materials for procedures
Sterilize instruments according to health and safety regulations
Assist the dentist using 4-handed dentistry techniques
Perform lab tasks as directed
Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked operatory
Schedule appointments
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment processing
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience as a dental assistant (1 year preferred)
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization procedures
Understanding of health and safety regulations
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks (e.g., coronal polishing) is a plus
Strong computer skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented, organized, and dependable
High school diploma required; dental assistant program completion preferred
Additional certifications (e.g., EFDA) are a plus
X-Ray Certification preferred
Position Details:
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8-hour shifts
Salary: $18.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience)
